Meeting Called To Order The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole Open Session Meeting to order. 1.0 Approval of Agenda Moved by Deputy Mayor McAlary, seconded by Councillor Armstrong: RESOLVED that the agenda be approved with item 1.1 Exotic / Entertainment License being discussed in Committee of the Whole Open Session. MOTION CARRIED. 1.1 Exotic / Entertainment License Commissioner Hamilton gave zone confirmation for an exotic entertainment license without nudity as an incidental use. No zones in Saint John permit adult entertainment with nudity. The Province of NB does not provide a license for selling alcohol in clubs with nudity. A draft letter was circulated and several revisions were suggested to clarify the intent of the City bylaws and the protection intended. The City Solicitor advised that the letter would require ratification in Open Session of Common Council. Moved by Deputy Mayor McAlary, seconded by Councillor MacKenzie: RESOLVED that the Committee of the Whole recommends that Common Council send a letter to the Provincial Minister requesting that the Exotic/Entertainment License not be approved. MOTION CARRIED. 1.2 Discussion of Confidential Matters 2017-2 Committee of the Whole Meeting Open Session April 24, 2017 Moved by Deputy Mayor McAlary, seconded by Councillor Armstrong: RESOLVED that the public be excluded from the meeting for the duration of the discussion on the following matter: 1.2 Employment Matter 10.2(4)(j). MOTION CARRIED. Record Pursuant to Section 10.2(4) The meeting of the Committee of the Whole of Common Council held on April 24, 2017 was closed to the public pursuant to Section 10.2(4) of the Municipalities Act during the Committee's discussion of the following matter: 1.2 Employment Matter 10.2(4)(j).
