By-law respecting the Regulation of Parking Amendment 2021-02-22A BY-LAW TO AMEND A BY-LAW
RESPECTING THE REGULATION OF
PARKING IN THE CITY OF SAINT JOHN,
BY-LAW NUMBER LG-8, AND
AMENDMENTS THERETO
Be it enacted by the Common Council of
The City of Saint John as follows:
A By-law of The City of Saint John entitled
"A By-law respecting the Regulation of Parking in
The City of Saint John, By-law Number LG-8" and
amendments thereto, enacted on the 27" day of
January, A.D. 2020, is hereby amended as follows:
1. Subsection 8(1) is repealed and replaced
with the following:
"8(1) The fee for the use of a parking space
located on a street listed in Schedule "A" shall be
not less than two dollars ($2.00) per hour and not
more than two dollars and twenty-five cents ($2.25)
per hour."
2. Section 17 is repealed and replaced with the
following:
"17 A person who violates a provision of this
By-law is guilty of an offence and is liable upon
summary conviction to a penalty of not less than
ninety dollars ($90.00) and not more than one
hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125.00)."
3. Subsection 18(2) is repealed and replaced
with the following:
"18(2) (a) A person who violates any provision
of this By-law may pay to the City within
fifteen calendar days from the date of such
violation an administrative penalty of
thirty dollars ($30.00), and upon such

modifid comme suit:
1. Le paragraphe 8(1) est abrogd et remplacd
par ce qui suit:
8(1) Les frais de stationnement pour I'utilisation
d'un emplacement de stationnement situd sur une
rue mentionnde a 1'annexe « A» ne doivent pas
etre infdrieurs a deux dollars (2,00 $) Meure et pas
plus de deux dollars et vingt-cinq cents (2,25 $)

2. L'article 17 est abrogd et remplacd par ce
qui suit:
c 17 Toute personne qui contrevient a une des
dispositions du prdsent arretd est coupable d'une
infraction et est passible sur condamnation
sommaire d'une pdnalitd minimale de quatre-
vingt-dix dollars (90 $) et d'un montant maximal
de cent vingt-cinq dollars (125 $).
3. Le paragraphe 18(2) est abrogd et remplace
par ce qui suit :
18(2) a) Toute personne qui contrevient a une
disposition du prdsent arretd peut payer a
la municipalitd dans un ddlai de quinze
jours civils a compter de la date de ladite
infraction, une pdnalitd administrative de
trente dollars (30 $), et une fois 1'amende

(b) A person who violates any provision

administrative penalty of forty dollars
($40.00) if payment is made more than
fifteen calendar days after the date of the
violation but within thirty calendar days
of such violation, and upon such payment,
the person who committed the violation is
not liable to be prosecuted therefor.
(c) A person who violates any provision
of this By-law may pay to the City an
administrative penalty of sixty-five
dollars ($65.00) if payment is made more
than thirty calendar days after the date of
such violation but before conviction in the
Provincial Court of New Brunswick, and
upon such payment, the person who
committed the violation is not liable to be
prosecuted therefor."

has caused the Corporate Common Seal of the said
City to be affixed to this by-law the 22nd day of

trente jours civils de la date de
l'infraction, mais avant une declaration de
culpabilitd a la Cour provinciale du
Nouveau -Brunswick, et une fois l'amende
payee, la personne n'est plus susceptible
de poursuites judiciaires.
