An extensive public review period, including four public open houses, multiple industry focused review sessions and stakeholder meetings have taken place since this time to ensure the proposed changes are well understood by the community. In order to ensure Common Council is supported through this large -scale update of the Zoning By -law, a Council Workshop on ZoneSJ has been scheduled for Monday December 2, 2013, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. This workshop is intended to provide a detailed briefing on the Draft Zoning By -law and seek Councils feedback on further changes. The Agenda for the evening is attached. The workshop will begin with an overview of the directions embedded in PlanSJ presented by Jacqueline Hamilton, Commissioner of Growth & Community Development Services. This will be followed by an overview of the guiding principles of ZoneSJ, presented by Mark O'Hearn, a senior member of the planning service. Following this, Mr. Terry MacDougall of IPS Consulting Inc., who is involved in the industrial peer review of the Draft Zoning By -law, will provide an overview of the approach to industrial zoning in ZoneSJ. His presentation will be followed by an overv=iew of the rural opportunities and public feedback presented by Stacey Forfar the project manager for ZoneSJ.
