1. Meeting Called To Order

The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order.
Councillor Sullivan explained that one of stated priorities of the Leisure Services Advisory Board
is to recognize volunteers in the community. He noted that there are currently approximately
one hundred sports related organizations in the City of Saint John, noting that the Leisure
Services Advisory Board would like to recognize two "volunteers of the year" for each
organization. He advised that the projected cost to arrange such an event would be
approximately $20,000.00.
On motion of Councillor Sullivan
Seconded by Councillor McGuire
RESOLVED that the City Manager be directed to examine the request of
the Leisure Services Advisory Board for funding in the amount of $20,000.00 for a community
recognition event.
Question being taken, the motion was carried.
