Minutes of the Portion of the Committee of the Whole Meeting Open to the Public
June 18, 2008, 5:00 p.m.

1. Meetina Called To Order
The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order.
The City Solicitor explained the Commissioner of Finance's role advising that Mr.
Yeomans reports directly to Council and that the Council can rely on any information
given by him on financial matters affecting the City.
Referring to his submitted presentation, Mr. Yeomans presented applicable legislation
and highlighted the City's General Fund and the Water and Sewerage Utility. He
explained the facts and myths when comparing Saint John with other New Brunswick
municipalities, and presented the challenges and opportunities in the long term for the
City.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
