Minutes of the Portion of the Committee of the Whole Meeting Open to the Public
Monday, July 27, 2009, 5:30 p.m.

1. Meetina Called To Order
The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order
1.1(a,b,c) Rockwood Park Presentation to Council
Referring to a submitted report, Robert Capson, Chairperson of the board of directors of Lily
Lake Pavilion Inc. introduced the volunteer Board of Directors and he provided Council with
background information regarding the Pavilion.
Referring to a submitted presentation, Ian Stead, President of the Saint John Horticultural
Association, He stated that the Saint John Horticultural Association requests that: the City
define its commitment to the park; the 1988 Master Plan be revisited and updated and that the
Rockwood Park/Lily Lake Development Plan be completed as soon as possible and the
entrance to the park be tendered immediately.
Cathy Taylor and Helen Bridgeo provided Council with an update regarding all of the activities
and events that currently take place in Rockwood Park.
Mr. Capson concluded the presentation by informing Council that the Directors of Lily Lake
Pavilion are making the following requests from the City of Saint John: 1) Complete phase 2 of
the Rockwood Park Re-development Project; 2) Increase Leisure Services; 3) Increase security
to the park.
The Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
