Nugent, City Solicitor; P. Woods, Acting City Manager; G. Yeomans, Commissioner of Finance and Treasurer; K. Forrest, Commissioner of Planning and Development; J. Taylor, Assistant Common Clerk and K. Tibbits, Administrative Assistant. 1. Meetina Called To Order The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order. 2. Discussion of Confidential Matters On motion of Councillor Sullivan Seconded by Councillor McGuire RESOLVED that the public be excluded from the meeting for the duration of the discussion on the following matter(s): 1.1 Employment Matter 10.2(4)(f); 1.2 Contract Negotiations 10.2(4)(c,d); 1.3 Nominating Committee 10.2(4)(b); 1.4 Employment Matter 10.2(4)(f,j); 1.5 Property Matter 10.2(4)(f,g); 1.6 Employment Matter 10.2(4)(f,j); 1.7 Personal Matter 10.2(4)(b)j; 1.8 Property Matter 10.2(4)(f,g) Question being taken, the motion was carried. 1.9 Peel Plaza Project - Legal Services Referring to a submitted report, the City Solicitor updated Council regarding the legal fees that have been submitted to the City by the firm Stewart McKelvey Stirling Scales with respect to the Peel Plaza Project. He stated that the extent of legal services provided to date have been considerably greater than what was originally anticipated and that invoices totaling $201,000 have been received. Mr. Nugent recommended that the Committee direct him to continue with the services of Stewart McKelvey as reasonably necessary to protect the City's interest in the potential P3 Project. On motion of Councillor McGuire Seconded by Councillor Sullivan RESOLVED that the City Solicitor be directed to continue with the services of Stewart McKelvey as reasonably necessary to protect the City's interest in the potential P3 Project. Question being taken, the motion was carried with Deputy Mayor Chase and Councillor Higgins voting nay.
