1. Meeting Called To Order
The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order.
1(a) Governance Structure – Standing Committee System
1(b) Presentation – Strategic Decision-Making Model
Referring to a submitted report and electronic slide presentation, the Deputy City
Manager reviewed the proposed new governance model for the City of Saint John.
Mr. Beckett advised that implementation of the new governance structure, should
Council choose to adopt it, would have to be delayed until after the new Council is in
place in 2008. He cited the workload and public education required for the plebiscite on
ward or at large system as the reason for the delay.
The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
