Minutes of the Portion of the Committee of the Whole Meeting Open to the Public

Present:
Mayor Norm McFarlane,
Deputy Mayor Hooton and Councillors Chang, Chase, Court, Farren, McGuire,
Tait, Titus and White

T. Totten, City Manager; J. Nugent, City Solicitor; G. Yeomans, Commissioner of
Finance and Treasurer; P. Woods, Deputy City Manager and Common Clerk,
and E. Gormley, Assistant Common Clerk
1. Meeting Called To Order
The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole meeting to order, and welcomed
Councillor Mike O’Brien, Paul Stapleton, Chief Administration Officer, and Chris
MacPherson, Deputy Chief Administration Officer from the City of Fredericton.
Mr. MacPherson presented the governance structure and process of the City of
Fredericton and Council members and staff from Saint John posed questions on the
system used by Fredericton.
