A BY-LAW TO REGULATE TRAILER
COURTS IN THE CITY OF SAINT JOHN
Be it enacted by the Common Council of
The City of Saint John, as follows:

1 In this By-Law unless the
otherwise requires,

"TRAILER" means a movable housing
unit or vehicle used for sleeping or eating
accommodation of persons and so
constructed so as to be suitable for being
attached to and drawn and propelled by a
motor vehicle notwithstanding that such
movable housing unit or vehicle is jacked
up or its running gear removed. (roulotte)
"TRAILER COURT" means a parcel of
land which has been planned and
developed or subdivided in such a manner
to provide for the placement or
accommodation of trailers. (parc a
roulottes)
2(1) No person shall maintain or operate within
The City of Saint John a trailer court without first
obtaining a license in accordance with the
provisions of this By-Law.
2(2) No person shall occupy a trailer within The
City of Saint John except in a trailer court licensed
under the provisions of this By-Law.
3( I) Any person desiring to develop a parcel of
land as a trailer court shall apply to the Common
Council of The City of Saint John and shall support
such application with the plans of the purposed area
and such other information as shall be required by
the Common Council.

2(1) II est interdit de tenir ou d' exploiter sur Ie
territoire de The City of Saint John un parc a
roulottes sans avoir obtenu au prealable un permis
en conformite avec Ie present arrete.
2(2) II est interdit d' occuper une roulotte sur Ie
territoire de The City of Saint John, sauf dans un
parc a roulottes titulaire d'un permis delivre sous Ie
regime du present arrete.
3( I) Les personnes qui souhaitent amenager une
parcelle pour en faire un parc a roulottes en font la
demande au conseil communal de The City of
Saint John et foumissent a l'appui de leur demande
les plans de l'aire projetee ainsi que tous autres
renseignements qu' exige Ie conseil communal.

4 The Common Council may permit any
person, after application has been made, to locate a
trailer in any area other than a trailer court for such
period as may be specified.
5 The fee for a license issued under Section 2
hereof shall be $50.00 and shall be valid until the
first day of May following the date of issuance of
such license, and no longer.

4 Le conseil communal peut permettre a une
personne, apres presentation d'une demande a cet
effet, d'installer une roulotte dans une aire autre
qu'un parc a roulottes pendant la periode qu'il fixe.
5 Le droit a payer pour obtenir un permis en
vertu de l'article 2 est de cinquante dollars et Ie
permis n'est valide que jusqu'au ler mai suivant la
date de delivrance du permis.
6( I) The Building Inspector of The City of Saint 6( I) L' inspecteur des batiments de The City of

6(2) The Building Inspector is authorized to
enter at any reasonable time, any lands or premises
to ascertain whether the provisions of this By-Law,
or any regulations made thereunder, are being
complied with.

A person who
(a) obstructs or hinders any person in the
performance of his duties under this By-
Law;
(b) violates any provisions of this By-Law;
is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary
conviction to a fine of not less than $25.00 and not
more than $100.00 for each day the offence
continues.
6(2) L'inspecteur des batiments est autorise a
penetrer a toute heure raisonnable sur des terrains
ou des lieux pour s' assurer de I' observation du
present arrete ou de ses reglements d'application.
7 Commet une infraction et est passible, sur
declaration de culpabilite par procedure sommaire,
d'une amende d'au moins vingt-cinq et d'au plus
cent dollars pour chaque jour au cours duquel
l'infraction se poursuit quiconque :
a) gene ou entrave une personne dans
l'exercice des fonctions qu'elle accomplit
en vertu du present arrete;
b) enfreint Ie present arrete.
8 A by-law of The City of Saint John enacted
on the twenty-fourth day of June, 1963 entitled "A
By-Law To Regulate Trailer Courts In The City of
Saint John" and all amendments thereto is repealed
on the coming into force of this by-law.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF The City of Saint John
has the Corporate Common Seal of the said City to
be affixed to this by-law the 21st day of November,
A.D. 2005 and signed by
