Anglin COMMON COUNCIL / CONSEIL COMMUNAL July 4, 2022 / le 4 juillet 2022 Call to Order 1.1 Land Acknowledgement Mayor Noade Reardon read aloud the Land Acknowledgement and called for a moment of reflection. "The City of Saint John/Menaquesk is situated is the traditional territory of the Wolastoqiyik/Maliseet.The Wolastoqiyik/Maliseet along with their Indigenous Neighbours, the Mi'Kmaq/Mi'kmaw and Passamaquoddy/Peskotomuhkati signed Peace and Friendship Treaties with the British Crown in the 1700s that protected their rights to lands and resources." 1.2 National Anthem The Saint John Youth Orchestra performed O Canada by video. 2. Approval of Agenda Moved by Councillor Hickey, seconded by Deputy Mayor MacKenzie: RESOLVED that the agenda of July 4, 2022, be approved. MOTION CARRIED. 3. Disclosures of Conflict of Interest 4. Committee of the Whole 4.1 Tentative Collective Agreement with Saint John Firefighters' Association IAFF 771 Moved by Councillor Sullivan, seconded by Councillor Lowe: RESOLVED that as recommended by the Committee of the Whole, having met on July 4, 2022, Common Council approve the following: 1. That the Common Council ratify the Tentative Agreement between The City of Saint John and the Saint John Fire Fighters' Association Local Union No. 771, which generally provides the content for the future Collective Agreement between the parties, on the terms and conditions as generally presented to Committee of the Whole on July 4, 2022; and 2. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute the Collective Agreement on the terms and conditions as generally presented to Committee of the Whole on July 4, 2022, and any documents ancillary thereto. La Ville de Saint John/Monaquesk est sitube sur le territoire ancestral de Wolastoqiyik/Maliseet. Ces derniers ainsi que leurs voisins autochtones, les Mi'Kmaq/Mi'kmaw et les Passamaquoddy/Peskotomuhkati, ont signb des traitbs de paix et d'amitib avec la Couronne britannique dans les annbes 1700 afin de protbger leurs droits sur les terres et les ressources. » 1.2 Hymne national Le Saint John Youth Orchestra interprbte le O Canada en vidbo. 3. Comite plenier 4.1 Convention collective provisoire avec ('Association des pompiers de Saint John IAFF 771 Propose par le conseiller Sullivan, appuyb par le conseiller Lowe : IL EST RESOLU que, conformbment a la recommandation du comitb plbnier, qui s'est rbuni le 4 juillet 2022, le conseil communal approuve ce qui suit: Que le Conseil communal ratifie 1'entente de principe entre la ville de Saint John et la Saint John Fire Fighters' Association Local Union NO.771, qui fournit gbnbralement le contenu de la future convention collective entre les parties, selon les conditions gbnbrales prbsentbes au comitb plbnier le 4 juillet 2022; Que le maire et le greffier soient autorisbs a signer la convention collective selon les conditions gbnbrales prbsentbes au comitb plbnier le 4 juillet 2022, ainsi que tout document connexe.
