Meeting Called To Order
The Mayor called the Committee of the Whole Open Session meeting to order
1.(i) Refugee Resettlement
The Mayor updated Council on the Federal Government resettlement initiative and the role of
the YMCA as the only federally funded resettlement agency in Saint John. The Minister of
Citizenship and Immigration, John McCallum, is approaching Mayors across Canada to assist in
the refugee resettlement and will conduct a conference call tomorrow. The Mayor will keep
Council updated on the initiative.
1.2 Discussion of Confidential Matters
On motion of Deputy Mayor Rinehart
Seconded by Councillor McAlary
RESOLVED that the public be excluded from the meeting for the duration
of the discussion on the following matters: 1.1 Personnel Matter 10.2(4)0); 1.1.1 Personnel
Matter 10.2(4)0); 1.2 Financial Matter 10.2(4)(c).
Record Pursuant to Section 10.2(4)
The meeting of the Committee of the Whole of Common Council held on November 16, 2015
was closed to the public pursuant to Section 10.2(4) of the Municipalities Act during the
Committee's discussion of the following matters: 1.1 Personnel Matter 10.2(4)0); 1.1.1
Personnel Matter 10.2(4)0); 1.2 Financial Matter 10.2(4)(c).
