RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Clerk be
authorized to sign the debentures between the City and the New Brunswick Municipal
Finance Corporation for $22,020,000. at the terms listed below:

5.2 City Market Monday, December 27, 2004 Closure - By-law Amendment
Consideration was given to a report from the City Manager in which he outlined the
existing City policy governing the hours of operation of the City Market, and
recommended that the City Market By-law be amended to allow the closure of the
Market on December 27, 2004.
On motion of Councillor Tait
Seconded by Councillor White
RESOLVED that the by-law entitled, "A Law To
Amend The By-law Relating To The City Market In The City Of Saint John" as it relates
to Monday, December 27, 2004 closure, be read a first time.
Question being taken, the motion was carried.
Read a first time by title, the by-law entitled, "A Law To Amend The By-law Relating To
The City Market In The City Of Saint John".

RESOLVED that the by-law entitled, "A Law To
Amend The By-law Relating To The City Market In The City Of Saint John" as it relates
to Monday, December 27, 2004 closure, be read a second time.

Examen d'un rapport presente par Ie directeur general soulignant la politique municipale
existante etablissant les heures d'ouverture du marche municipal et recommandant que
I'arrete concernant Ie marche municipal soit modifie afin de permettre la fermeture du
marche Ie 27 decembre 2004.

10.1 Seniors Advisory Committee and Book - Bob Butler
Consideration was given to a letter from Bob Butler in which he recommends individuals
for consideration for appointments to the Seniors' Advisory Committee and requests that
the City purchase copies of his book.
On motion of Councillor Chase
Seconded by Councillor Chang
RESOLVED that the Common Clerk send a letter to
Bob Butler advising that the names he submitted for appointments to the Seniors'
Advisory Committee be referred to the Nominating Committee and that it is not in the
City's mandate to support publications through purchasing.
Question being taken, the motion was carried.
10.1 Lettre rec;ue de Bob Butler relative au Comite consultatif des aines et a son
livre
Examen d'une lettre reyue de Bob Butler dans laquelle il recommande certaines
personnes pour sieger au Comite consultatif des alnes et demande a la ville d'acheter
des exemplaires de son livre.

RESOLU que Ie greffier communal expedie une
lettre a Bob Butler indiquant que les noms de personnes qu'il a proposes pour sieger au
Comite consultatif des alnes sont transmis au Comite des candidatures et que Ie mandat
de la ville ne comprend pas I'appui de publications en procedant a leur achat.
A I'issue du vote, la proposition est adoptee.
