Referring to a submitted report and prese ntation, the Acting City Manager provided an overview
of the 2010 General Fund and Capital operati ng budgets and he responded to question s from
Council members.
A. Beckett, G. Yeomans, K. Rice, A. Poffenroth, B. Edwards, R. Simonds, C. Waldschutz, W.
Re id, R. Smith, D. Logan, F. McCarrey, J. McIntyre, and E. Gormley responded to questions
posed by Council members regarding the budgets of their respective departments.
The Acting City Manager requested that Council provide him with direction in regard to the 2010
budget .
On motion of Councillor McGuire
Seconded by Councillor Court
RESOLVED that the Acting City Manager be directed to submit a
balanced 2010 budget , for Council’s consideration , at the meeting of January 18, 2010.
Question being take n, the motion was carried with Councillor Higgins voting nay.
Councillor Higgins stated that she is against the motion as last year she had suggested that
Council aim for a 5 cent reduction in the municipal tax rate.
