Councillor Tait questioned why the City Manager's Report concerning the Aquatic Centre
YMCA-YWCA was not being discussed in open session of Council to which Mr. Woods
responded the item deals with land and contract negotiations and advised there is
nothing preventing Council from taking it to open session. Mr. Nugent explained that
agenda items are identified that can be discussed in private, but there is no rule they
must be discussed in private, but rather Council is given the opportunity to decide if they
wish to discuss a matter in private or public session. A brief discussion followed with Mr.
Woods responding to questions regarding the proposed agreement between the "Y" and
the CGAC.
